Japan Blog : Nanuba

Written by Matthew Stenquist
Nanuba can be described as a small ski-resort with a park & a few chairlifts over-looking a urban city with a train that passes by every hour. However don't let Nanuba's size discouraged you. It has a well maintained park ,with jumps, & plenty of boxes and rails to slide all day long. With a short chairlift you can literally lap the park 60 times in a full day worth of riding.Moss Halladay, Teddy Koo, Pat Milbery, A-Ray & Monstrr had the opportunity to show up at Nanuba for half a day & get some shredding in! Here's a gallery of photos from Nanuba, Japan!
Oh, the power of a snowgun.  If you have ever hit a table top jump in a snowboard park, you  can pretty accredit the jump to the invention of a snowgun.  Most resorts are over 80 % machine-made snowgun snow.  It was one heck of a invention, considering it makes the impossible a possibly and it opens up many new doors for fun to be had on your snowboard.  My boy Angel Rodriguez and I got up close and personal with a snowgun last season and were able to blast through the jet stream of snow crystals.  It was kinda sketchy, I really can not lie about that one and I WOULD NOT recommend doing it. For a second or two of time, you are completely blinded by a layer of ice that forms on your goggle lens.  Tricky to land when you...

KonnicchiiiiYahhh! We recently had the opportunity to hang out with Keijiro & Oily from the Weird movies and also their new web series WoW at the Surfride Snowstyle magazine photo-shoot. We got a little crazy riding the Surf-ride park , all the way to jumping over a giant cone with a person inside of it. Luckily the Weird people were kind enough to feature Pat Milbery, Moss Halladay & Teddy Koo in their edit, as-well Monstrr who was inside the cone giving out a shout-out to weird! Here's a video featuring So-Gnar ,from a very popular Japanese snowboard web series titled WOW!

Japan Blog : Snow-Wave Contest Photo's...

Written by Matthew Stenquist
Here's a recap of the Snow-Wave contest that we had the opportunity to participate in. With a $2000 cash purse for the men's & a $1000 cash purse for the woman's, there were surely a lot of competitors that showed up to this event. Un-like most big air contests Snow-wave was a big air contest set outside the mountain resort in a desolate area outside the city, boasting a abundance of booth's & various musical displays through-out the day.

We just had an opportunity to do a rad session over here in Japan with a magazine called SNOWSTYLE.  They are a publication here in Japan that covers a wide variety of snowboarding. They recently published a bomb drop photo from my part in Think Thank's "Cool Story".  My friend Angel Rodriguez from Spain took the photo, big ups Angel.  Check out my little tiger dog Tora's debut photo in Japan.  This dog is getting mad love worldwide!
